Vienā gadījumā tas var būt pluss, citos tas ir mīnuss. Bet ne tas ir svarīgi, jo tā kā socket.io izmantos engine.io, tad vienkārši socket.io ir augstāka līmeņa abstrakcija, ko arī cilvēkiem vajadzētu izmantot, ja vien nav specifisks gadījums, lai izmantotu tieši engine.io.
